I know I have asked this question a few weeks ago and unfortunately I only got about 5 reponses. My fiance and I have decided to go there for our honeymoon but wanted to hear feedback before we make the reservations. I would like to know if anyone has had the experience at one of the Sandals Resorts and was it worth the trip? Which one did you go to and how much was your package if you don%26#039;t mind. Thank you!
Sandals Resorts for Honeymoon????
We just booked our honeymoon for Couples Resort in Jamaica. It%26#039;s couples only, all inclusive, 7 nights %26amp; airfare. It cost us 3500.00 including round trip airfare.
Reply:My husband and I went to Sandals St. Lucia, and I think that we were at the Regency resort. And we wouldn%26#039;t have changed it for the world!!! It was SO amazing and breath-taking, we would have liked to go back for our one year anniversary, but can%26#039;t now that we are expecting a baby, and it would be cutting it too close. But we spend about $7,000 including airfare and everything in inclusive in the Sandals resorts so that%26#039;s really nice. And if you are on an island that they have other Sandals resort, such as St. Lucia-there are three different resorts on that island- they have shuttles that will bring you to other resorts which was REALLY nice!!! ALso, the reason why we paid so much was because we had our own private villa over looking the inlet, our own pool, and our own butler service. And it was WELL WORTH IT!!!
Reply:I haven%26#039;t been there yet, but my fiance and I are going to be staying at the Sandals Royal Carribbean for our honeymoon. We%26#039;re going at the beginning of November and our package is about $2050 with air, transfers and 3 nights of hotel (total for 2 with taxes, etc.).
Sandals are pretty good properties. I worked in the travel industry for about 6 years and have heard plenty of good things. It%26#039;s adults only and mostly honeymooners and anniversary couples. Keep in mind that most of the restaurants require nicer dress.
Congratulations and have a great time!
Reply:I%26#039;ve never been. You probably didn%26#039;t get many answers because it%26#039;s pretty much a shot in the dark that someone in %26quot;weddings%26quot; would just happen to have gone to that specific resort. You need to go where people are obsessed with travel. I would strongly advise going to this site:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/
Go to forums %26amp; then click on any area you%26#039;re considering visiting and just post a question specifically about Sandals. The people on there helped me SO much when planning my trip to Hawaii. They even looked up packages with my dates, gave me other options on hotels, looked up airfare for me, etc. and I didn%26#039;t even ask for that.
Plus, the site has reviews on every hotel %26amp; resort and also they rank them from #1 to whatever based on reviews. The reviews were really helpful when I was deciding whether or not to choose the hotel I wanted.
Best of luck!
Reply:For the person who suggested www.tripadvisor.com - it was good advice. Those are real people with real experiences.
My husband to be and I are booked to stay at the Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica from 6/15/08-6/21/08.
Airfare: I had American Airline miles to fly us both, all we had to do was pay taxes of $100 or so.
Sandals Whitehouse resort: It is a fairly new resort (I think it%26#039;s been open only 3-4 years) and it is about 1 1/2 hrs south of Montego Bay airport. Sandals is providing the transportation to %26amp; from the airport. We booked it in October of 07. They were having an upgrade special where for the price of a standard room, we get a honeymoon suite. I used a travel agent to book adn it was the same price Sandals woudl have charges (I checked online). We paid $2352 plus $116 for trip insurance for the both of us for 5 days, 6 nights, all inclusive. Not bad.
Check out all the fine print on the Sandals website. If you are going through a travel agent, have them check for specials, upgrades and current promotions. I just saw a commercial on the other day about some special promotion they are running if you book by 5/31, I believe.
Good luck!
Reply:I haven%26#039;t been to a sandals resort personally, but I know MANY peoples who have gone for honeymoons/vacations. and Everyone I have talked to loved it, the price can be a bit steep depending on what accomodations you pick, etc. but they usually hold sales periodically. And I have heard its a lot of fun!
Hope that helps
